Abstract

Recently polyphase codes have drawn significant attention since they have a high degree of design freedom and low autocorrelation sidelobes. Nevertheless, in practical radar system, the transmitted polyphase signals could be greatly distorted due to the non-ideal circuits. Therefore, it’s necessary to compensate the distorted signal to improve the practicability of polyphase codes. A traditional compensation procedure is to compare the transmitted signal with a reference signal, and compensate the distortion in the frequency domain. In this paper, the mismatched filter processing is adopted to reduce the pulse compression sidelobes and realize the amplitude-phase compensation of the distorted signals. According to the processing results of the experimental data, the mismatched filter processing method can reduce the sidelobe by about 15dB.
