Abstract

Target identification and orientation are studied applying laser detection technique. Based on laser reflection equation of close field target and combined with typical meeting condition between missile and target, simulation curves of tank laser reflection characteristics are given theoretically. Main disturbances of laser detection are analyzed. The identification rules are put forward that distinguish the amplitude of reflected pulse and pulse number. Statistical analysis is adopted to set up histogram of laser signal of a tank. Then the amplitude threshold is established combined with detection probability. The method of ascertaining pulse number threshold is analyzed according to orientation requirement and target size. Simulation results indicated that the detection and identification system can distinguish tank target effectively and orientate it, so as to realize hitting at a tank top armour accurately.
