Abstract

Aiming at the measurement problem of endpints' high efficiency and high accuracy in pipeline system, a measuring method of endpoints based on two-dimensional point-target was proposed. The machine vision and the two-dimensional point-target were introduced into this method. The two-dimensional point-target was installed on the ends of the pipe to obtain the mark points' coordinates by processing the image acquisition. The coordinates of the pipe's endpoints in the camera coordinates system was solved by building the correlation between the target model and the camera model. The relative position of the endpoints could be calculated on this basis. The measuring experiment showed that the proposed method improved the precision in measuring the pipe's endpoints position and insured the efficiency.
