Abstract
Through the use of a high speed streak camera, measured the two dimensional Lagrangian velocities of points on the outside surface of a cylinder having varying thickness and driven by detonation, and have obtained history of unsteady increase of velocity. Depending upon the assumption of an exponential model of velocity increase, this paper deduces the semiempirical formula for the driven velocity of the cylinder surface v, the maximum projection angle δ0 and the characteristic acceleration time.
