Measurement algorithm of scalar miss distance based on narrow pulse

Abstract

A new miss distance measurement method based on narrow pulse is presented in condition of uniform and rectilinear motion. The measurement is expressed as the least square fitting of range and time by the geometrical relation of miss distance parameters. And the best estimated result is achieved. Then by modeling the radar system, detecting and accumulating return signal, the data for simulation is acquired. Simulation results show that the measurement method has satisfying result for the parameter estimation of miss distance.
