Abstract
Source localization using passive sensor arrays has been an active research problem for many years. In this work, the Expectation-Maximization (EM) algorithm is investigated. EM algorithm is a well known recursive method for locating modes of a likelihood function which is characterized by simple implementation and stability. The algorithm is developed for the case of stationary Gauss signals. The application of the algorithm to the multiple source localization estimation problems is considered.
