Abstract

A low profile frequency reconfigurable antenna is presented in this manuscript. The antenna geometry is extracted by truncating conventional rectangular monopole antenna. Furthermore, two L-shaped open ended stubs were inserted to enhance wider band along with frequency reconfigurability. The geometry consists of an overall compact dimension of 7.5mm × 5mm × 0.762mm. Moreover, due to its attractive performance characteristics like wider operational bandwidth along with higher gain and higher efficiency in all diode switching cases makes the proposed work as an excellent choice for 5G millimeter wave (MMW) mobile communication.
