Abstract

This paper presents an eight-way waveguide power divider for terahertz (THz) heterodyne receiver array applications. By cascading three-stage two-way H-plane power dividers, the proposed power divider achieves eight in-phase outputs with equal amplitude. All the structures are of the same height for ease of process. For verification, a 220-GHz eight-way waveguide power divider is fabricated by computer numerical control (CNC) process. A two-port back-to-back structure is measured, and the measured 15-dB matching bandwidth is 6.8% (213228 GHz). The measured insertion loss of back-to-back power divider is 6.2 dB at 220 GHz. The effect of assembly error is also analyzed.
