Abstract
Photorefractive polymers sensitized by gold nanoparticles and core-shell quantum dots are developed. The discovered plasmonic coupling effect under femtosecond beam illumination enables sub-wavelength-scale refractive index modulation with an enhanced strength for new types of light-addressable phase modulators.
