Abstract

The problem of Peak-to-Average Power Ratio (PAPR) reduction in Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) system has gained wide attention during the last decade, leading to the development of several PAPR reduction techniques. A very effective technique for PAPR reduction would be the so called "Selective Mapping" algorithm. In this paper, we propose a modified clipping technique and use it jointly with Selective Mapping for performing PAPR reduction. Simulation results show that the proposed technique is capable of resulting in a better PAPR reduction as compared to the conventional techniques.
