Abstract

A heat treatment algorithm for flexible manufacturing system is proposed in this paper. The constraints of different types, different weights and sizes, and dynamic arrivals are considered. The objective is to meet the delivery date, meanwhile maximize the utilization of heat treatment furnaces. The batch processing rules are also proposed. Simulation results show that this algorithm is effective in solving job shop heat treatment scheduling problems.
