Abstract

Using various chromatographic techniques including column chromatography of silica gel, polyamide and Sephadex-LH20, four flavanes, two stilbenes and four steroids are isolated from the total phenols extract of dragon's blood. These compounds are identified by analyzing the chemical characters and spectroscopic data of the 1H NMR, 13C NMR and MS. They are 4', 7-dihydroxyflavane, 7-hydroxy-4'-methoxyflavane, 4', 7-dihydroxy-3'-methoxy-8-methylflavane, 4', 7-dihydroxyhomoisoflavane, pterostilbene, trans-4', 5-dihydroxy-3-methoxy-diphenylthene, stigmasterol, 4-methyl-cholesta-7-ene-3β-ol, cycloartanol and diosgenin. Among them, 4', 7-dihydroxy-3'-methoxy-8-methylflavane, trans-4', 5-dihydroxy-3-methoxy-diphenylethene, cycloartanol and 25(R)-diosgenin are isolated from the resin of Dracaena Co. chinchinensis(Lour.)S. C. Chen for the first time.
