Abstract

Operating as the sensor of the body centric wireless network, the wearable flexible antenna has become an important component of the fourth generation mobile communication (4G). Based on the design requirements of the wearable flexible antenna, a antenna with low profile, light weight, and easy processing technique is presented. The proposed antenna was designed on the thin microwave substrate with a thickness of 0.5mm and relative permittivity of 2.17. The radiation performance of the antenna when bending in the conformal surfaces with different angles has been simulated and tested. The measurement results show that the planar antenna maintain the good radiation performance as well as high conformal flexibility in a broad frequency band.
