Influential factors analysis on interior ballistic performance of lift-draw ejecting device

Abstract

Based on the interior ballistics theory and Craige-Bampton method, co-simulation platform of lift-draw vertical ejection system was established under the MATLAB/SIMULINK, ADAMS environment, which had a higher simulation accuracy compared with the traditional ballistic model. The simulation results considering the influence of the nozzle throat diameter, initial volume of low pressure chamber and propellant model including eccentric model and non-coaxial model, were almost consistent with the experimental results and successfully reproduced the unstable, irregular pressure problems existing in the experiments. Some effective solutions including decreasing the nozzle throat diameter or increasing the initial volume of low pressure chamber and improving the propellant processing precision were discussed to figure out these problems, which would be useful for the future optimal design of missile launcher.
