Abstract

To investigate the influence of suspension parameters on the tracked vehicle maximum cross-road velocity. 2 degrees of freedom linear vehicle suspension model (vertical and pitching) is established and simulation is performed with the random road input of various degrees of road roughness under different speeds, suspension stiffness and damping ratios. The maximum velocity of tracked vehicle can be improved with the increase of allowable suspension travel and heat sinking capacity of the shock absorber.
