Abstract

In this paper, the performance and structure of permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) with V-shape PMs used for electric vehicles (EVs) are designed. Then, the finite-element method (FEM) is used to analyze the basic performance of electromagnetic field, temperature field and stress field of the motor, as well as the multi-physics performance under different silicon steel materials. By comparing the motor performance under different materials, the influence law of silicon steel (SS) materials on motor performance is investigated, and the selection principle of SS materials for the driving motor of EVs is proposed.
