Abstract

Studies the dynamic mechanical properties of brittle material and viscoelastic material through traditional SHPB experiment. There are several problems about the stress uniformity and constant strain rate in the early or entire process of experiment. These problems severely affect the effectiveness and accuracy of results of experiments. Due to the above problems, the influence of incident pulse of slope on stress uniformity and constant strain rate is analyzed in detail using one-dimensional stress wave theory. The calculation indicates that the more gentle the slope is, the more helpful for the uniformity of stress and constant of strain-rate in the specimens. Thus, it causes to maintain a longer period of time for the state of stress uniformity and constant strain-rate.
