Improvement design of brake dynamometer

Abstract

Based on the general purpose of brake dynamometer, the test bench was redesigned with addition of some key devices such as one roller for simulating road surface, one DC driving motor and a cylinder producing pressure between roller and tire. The whole control system was also improved to meet the new requirements. All these modifications made the bench suit to conduct anti-lock braking system (ABS) and automatic slip regulation (ASR) test for a single wheel without any changes of its original functions. Although that could only perform single wheel test, it assisted the development process of ABS/ASR for passenger cars and light vehicles.
