Abstract
In MPEG-4 parametric speech coding, the harmonic vector excitation coding (HVXC) algorithm is used for very low bit rate coding. Parameter analyzing and synthesizing processes in the algorithm are discussed. The algorithm is realized through software and an improved algorithm is obtained based on HVXC.
