Abstract

The corner reflector is an effective passive jamming device that counters radar detection. It has no obvious differences with the radar echo of the ship in regard to the time, frequency and spatial domain. The polarization characteristics of radar echoes are another important feature after amplitude, phase and doppler shift. The polarization invariant feature and the target polarization shape factor are extracted based on the electromagnetic calculation of trihedral corner reflector and ship. SVM is used as a classifier to identify the ship and corner reflector with polarization invariant features. The recognition results validate the effectiveness of theoretical analysis.
