Abstract

System design technique of high-resolution FM stepped-frequency (FM-SF) SAR system is investigated in this paper. High-resolution SAR system is implemented through narrow sub-band, multi stepped-frequency and high pulse repetition frequency technique. Double phased lock loops operate alternatively and generate stepped local oscillator. Non-linear phase error and starting sampling range error are estimated and compensated to improve the performance of pulse compression result. System performance is verified through airborne experiment and can satisfy high resolution imaging requirement.
