Abstract

This paper proposes a hierarchical energy management framework and distributed energy trading strategy to optimize power trading in a smart energy multi-community system with multi-dimensional energy characteristics. At the upper of this framework, a virtual cloud leader is introduced to predict the real-time price of the main grid and serves as the role of mapping the power schedule and price update of the local energy community to ensure the reliability of the system through redundancy. And at the bottom of the framework, each energy community alternately updates its power schedule and price with the proposed distributed energy trading strategy synchronizing with the upper virtual cloud leader. Simulation results in a typical 3-energy community system demonstrate that the framework and the strategy can optimize the power trading reasonably to ensure the minimum total operation cost of the system.
