Abstract

Busy urban empty-nesters, exposed to prolonged artificial light, experience disrupted circadian rhythms and sleep issues. This study aims to address these problems by developing a smart sleep health product and integrated bedroom system. Grounded in active health principles, this design combines bedding and lighting systems to combat rhythm disruptions and discourage late-night activities. By analyzing engineering factors and integrating design elements seamlessly, a strategic approach is formulated. Prototype evaluation demonstrates its efficacy in improving sleep quality with aesthetic appeal. In conclusion, this intelligent sleep health design, based on active health, effectively regulates circadian rhythms in urban empty-nesters, alleviates sleep disorders, and informs intelligent health design practices.
