Abstract
Based on the characteristic of the frame structure of trellis-coded modulation/intermediate date rate(TCM/IDR) channel unit for satellite communication and the requirement of preset-and-startup method, the search method is studied for frame alignment signals inserted discretely into each frame. By employing high speed dual-port SRAMs and field programmable gate array (FPGAs), synchronization detection, protection and other related timing circuits are implemented. The experimental results show that the schematic and hardware implementation are correct and the framing/deframing unit can be put into practical use.
