Abstract

To improve accuracy of artillery rocket is a crucial problem especially for long-range multiple launch rocket system. A kind of simplified control system can control the rocket during boost phase, but cannot compensate for disturbance during coast phase. In this paper, a guidance and control system making use of low cost IMU/GPS (Inertial Measurement Unit/Global Positioning System) is introduced, by which disturbance during both phase can be restricted. Guidance adds extra cost to the rocket but is more than offset by increased effectiveness.
