Gear position layout optimization for decreasing bearing supporting reaction of gearbox

Abstract

In order to decrease the supporting reaction of bearing seat of certain vehicle dynamic shifting gearbox under different gears conditions, the shift transmission part of gearbox was simplified, and gear position layout optimization model was set up; considering the working period percentage of each gear condition, linear weighting method was applied to construct a synthetical objective function, which reflected gearbox's reaction of different conditions. Based on nonlinear programming arithmetic theory of MATLAB optimization toolbox and "fmincon" function was used to solve the problem. The result displays that the layout optimization method is feasible, and can provide reference to the improvement of gearbox layout.
