Abstract

The fragmentation behavior of metal liner in multi-point initiation of shaped charge was presented by using AUTODYN-3D code simulations. The numerical results show that the same number of regular fragments as initiation points could be achieved by the multi-point initiation of shaped charges, where the detonation wave superposition and stress concentration on the surface of metal liner were produced, resulting in a cutting-like fragmentation of liner materials. Moreover, the further simulations show that the fragment formation behavior of shaped charges significantly depends on the number of initiation points. The increase of fragment average velocity could be achieved by increasing the number of initiation points.
