Forecast of pressure field near launch canister outlet for underwater-launched missile based on CFD

Abstract

Based on dynamic meshing technology and VOF model without phase transformation, the pressure field near underwater-launched missile canister outlet was simulated by using a 2-D axisymmetric model. The characteristics of bubble pulse near canister outlet and pressure over the cover were achieved through simulation. The total load over the cover was calculated by means of a simplified method. The simulation results and test results are approximately identical. All these show that CFD model can be used in the engineering design and mechanic forecasting of the cover system.
