Abstract

An evaluation of the anomalous Hall conductivity (AHC) in ferromagnetic bcc Fe was presented. The calculation was based on spin-density functional theory and the linearized augmented plane wave method. It was found that the AHC in transition metal ferromagnets was intrinsic in origin. The intrinsic AHC was found to relate with the k-space Berry phase of occupied Bloch states.
