Abstract

Small unmanned-aerial-vehicle (UAV) synthetic aperture radar (SAR) tomography can provide 3-D radar images of targets flexibly and cheaply without layover and geometric distortion. In 2020, a P-band ultrawideband ultrawidebeam (UWB) SAR system was designed and mounted on a multi-rotor UAV. The first multibaseline small UAV SAR tomographic data was collected using the UAV-based UWB SAR system in March 2021, in Chongqing, China. In this paper, the first small UAV SAR tomography experiment is demonstrated including the system and experiment design, data processing and 3-D imaging results.
