Abstract

To effectively implement side impact simulation of the electric bus BK6122EV, the finite element model of the whole vehicle including its skeleton, covering parts, power battery pack and the mobile barrier was established. On this base, a lateral collision simulation on the rear hull position was done in accordance with the collision regulations. Then the deformation of electric bus body and the power battery pack during the collision process were analyzed and the security of power battery pack was evaluated. It is pointed out that the factors that would affect the bus security are defects such as the low stiffness of the battery door skeleton, poor tightener of battery module and the weak buffering ability of the side wall skeleton in collision zone.
