Abstract

A fast method to study the angular response of the random rough surfaces is proposed in this paper based on a randomized low-rank matrix decomposition. The stochastic characteristics of the scattering from the random rough surfaces under tapered wave incidence are studied numerically. The rule of selecting the number of incidents to obtain a high spatial resolution is investigated. Numerical examples demonstrate the performance of the proposed angular sweeping scheme.
