Abstract
This paper proposes a segmented digital matched filter (SDMF) combined with fast Fourier transform (FFT) for the fast acquisition of direct sequence spread spectrum signals in presence of large Doppler shifts. The combination of SDMF and zeros-padding FFT results in decreased acquisition time and can improve the probability of detection, meanwhile offers a coarse Doppler shifts estimation. This approach is easy to be implemented and has proved to have outstanding performance on a direct sequence spectrum system receiver.
