Abstract

We present an isothermal platform comprising a micro-incubator for performing highly sensitive bacterial oxygen consumption (OC) measurements. OC under various conditions, such as different culture media and temperatures, was studied. We demonstrated the feasibility of fast antimicrobial susceptibility (AST) testing and the possibility to determine minimum inhibitory (MIC) concentrations within a few hours, i.e. on a much shorter timescale than with current clinical setting.
