Abstract

The CRC-CCITT cyclic redundancy check code in international standard is studied. The polarities check ability, minimum code distance and capacity of correct single bit error of CRC-CCITT are proved by using galois field polynomial theory. A new scheme of using CRC to correct single bit error in one frame is provided based on the analysis of single bit error frame distribution in wireless communications. Simulation results have proved that CRC error correcting can improve the performances of bit error rate, packet error rate and throughput of a communications system. Especially under the condition of the original bit error rate ranging from 10-3-10-5, the throughput of wireless communications system has greatly improved. Without any changing of the original structures, new scheme has improved the performance of data transmission. A low complexity implementation method of this scheme is given.
