Abstract

A measurement system to study deflagration to detonation transition(DDT) of solid propellants was established experimentally. By using this system, DDT process of NEPE solid propellants was investigated under both the strong and weak condition of restriction. The pressure and velocity profiles for different density propellant were measured in the strong and weak restraint experiments. The experimental results show that there is fully compacted region in DDT process.
