Abstract

Aim: To analyze the common failure mode of the HSV and estimate its working life. Methods: Life experiment, FMECA, and the existence analysis were used. Results: The failure modes of the HSV include the failure of the hydraulic sealing, the short or broken circuit of the electromagnetic coil, the weary failure of the spring, and the loose of the support, etc. The working life is 3×105times. Conclusion: In order to improve the performance of the HSV, there are further works in the selection of material, the accuracy of manufacture, and the assembly technology. The working life also needs improving.
