Abstract

A kind of non-collinear TeO2 acousto-optic tunable filters (AOTF) with a large optical incident angle and a long interaction length is introduced, which is designed by ours and will be used in optical fiber communications, and the characteristics of the samples are measured, by which it is shown that the diffraction efficiency reaches at 96% in the tunable range of larger than l00nm; the bandwidth is narrower than 2nm. It can be found that there is a good consistency with basic theoretical model. So it could be used to compose dynamically optical add/drop multiplexer (OADM) and should play an important role in the coming general optical network.
