Abstract

The evaluation method on cycle variations of port-injection hydrogen engine (PFI-HICE) was made, and performance tests were conducted. Interdependency analysis of pmax, θpmax, dpmax and θdpmax with IMEP was made at different speeds, throttle openings, ignition timings and equivalence ratios. Test results show that, COVIMEP is the best parameter to reflect the cycle variations of PFI-HICE. High interdependency between COVpmax and COVIMEP at high speed and heavy load. Pmax can be used to evaluate cycle variations of PFI-HICE. Little interdependency between θpmax, dpmax, θdpmax and IMEP is presented, thus these parameters are improper for evaluating cycle variations of PFI-HICE.
