Abstract

Metal foils have the irreplaceable advantages compared to the two others, The only shortcoming is the problem of surface roughness. We adopted the ultra-thin steel foils as the flexible display substrate, and electrolytic polishing technique was used to deal with the surface roughness, and electrolytic polishing process was systematically investigated. The results showed that; electrolytic polishing time, current density, the directional motion of air bladder, and other factors affected the electrolytic polishing process. The surface roughness (Ra) of stainless steel sheet decreased from 0.12 μm to 0.040 μm.
