Abstract

The electromagnetic characteristics of coated targets are of significant importance in various applications, from radar recognition to remote sensing. This work studies the efficient scattering analysis from multiple IBC (impedance boundary condition) targets. Due to the numerical stability and fast convergence behavior, the combined self-dual integral equation (C-SDIE) formulation is adopted for IBC surfaces. To improve the efficiency and reduce the complexity of the numerical study, each isolated unit in the multiple targets is treated individually, and the associated data structures are reused for identical targets. The coupling effects among two separated targets are evaluated through a transfer matrix. Moreover, an initial guess approach is presented to improve the convergence rate of the proposed method. Numerical examples are performed to demonstrate the correctness, accuracy and robustness of the proposed method.
