Abstract
In a DI diesel engine equipped with electronic unit pump (EUP), simulation analysis and experimental investigation were conducted to examine influences of cam profile, diameters of plunger and nozzle hole on engine emission characteristics. Results show that obvious improvement in original engine emissions are obtained by adopting optimized combination of optimized decelerating cam profile with plunger diameter of 11 mm and nozzle hole diameter of 0.21 mm, particulate emission decreases by over 80%, satisfying China IV emission regulation, and realizing the expected objective.
