Abstract

The effect of electrostatic field distribution of cartridge on resonant frequency, pattern and gain of microstrip antennas is analyzed with uniformly charged cylinder simulating charged cartridge. Firstly, the spatial far field formula of uniformly charged cylinder is deduced by using the method of Laplaces equation. Secondly, the composite far field formula is obtained by using the uniqueness theorem and the superposition principle of field. Finally, the radiation pattern of the microstrip antennas is calculated by Matlab according to the result of theoretical analysis, and the radiation pattern's variation of microstrip antennas with different charges of cylinder is analyzed.
