Effect of Cylindrical and Spherical Conformation on Transmission Characteristics of FSS

Abstract

The influence of cylindrical conformation and spherical conformation with 20times 20 and 7times 7 FSS unit cells respectively is analyzed in this paper. The wideband metallic FSS has a passband between 9-11 GHz and has the potential to be bend. HFSS is used for searching the optimum dimension of the FSS unit cell and simulating the conformation system. We analyze the transmission property, current distribution successively and explain the phenomena such as fringe effect.
