Abstract

Microwave/millimeter-wave imaging has a wide prospect in applications of personnel security inspection since it can provide high resolution imaging without health hazards. In this paper, a cylindrical dual reconfigurable array based on the radiation pattern adjustable elements is proposed. Compared with the traditional planar array, the cylindrical array can offer wider angular observations of the target with better focusing performance, and has better range resolution. Additionally, the radiation patterns of the elements in the proposed reconfigurable reflectarray can be adjusted, which improves the scanning angle of the array beam. Numerical simulations are provided to demonstrate the superiority of the proposed cylindrical dual reconfigurable reflectarray.
