Abstract

This paper develops the disturbance observer based fuzzy speed regulator for a permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM). The disturbance observer is proposed to estimate the modeling error, which can be incorporated in the controller to counteract the disturbance. With the help of the proposed disturbance observer and load torque observer, the fuzzy speed regulators are developed, and the controller gains are designed. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed technique is illustrated by a numerical example.
