Abstract

A novel distributed turbo code (DTC), called dual-systematic bits DTC (DS-DTC), is proposed for a two-hop relay system. The source broadcasts a punctured turbo code to both relay and destination. After iterative decoding the received codes, the relay forwards the systematic bits to the destination in case of successful cyclic redundancy check (CRC). And a modified turbo decoder based on double versions of systematic bits is designed at destination in order to make full use of the information coming from source and relay. The superiority of the proposed DS-DTC to conventional DTC and punctured DTC is revealed through simulations.
