Abstract

In this paper, a modified Complementary Split ring resonator is presented with enhanced accuracy. This is a single resonator based sensor with deep notch in S21. The sensor is designed to have a resonance frequency of 4.96GHz. This sensor comprising of a unit cell CSRR can be represented as a narrow band reject filter. This compact sensor is designed on the commercially available RO4003C material. The dependence of resonance frequency based on structural parameters is simulated in CST Microwave studio. After parametric analysis this sensor is optimized to give a deep notch in C-Band. S-parameters simulation shows that this resonator can be utilized as high accuracy sensor for dielectric constant and loss tangent measurements.
