Abstract

The nitrate contents in five kinds of polyethylene polyammoniums polynitrates were determined using nitrate selective electrodes. The five kinds of polyethylene polyammoniums polynitrates tested were respectively: ethylene diammonium dinitrates (DAN), diethylene triammonium trinitrates (TrAN), triethylene tetrammonium tetranitrates (TeAN), tetraethylene pentammonium pentanitrates (PeAN) and polyethylene polyammonium polynitrates (PoAN). Effects of Various experimental conditions such as pH value, presence of other ionics on the results were studied, and the optimum experimental conditions were settled upon. The results showed that determination of the content of nitrates in polyethylene polyammonium polynitrates using nitrate selective electrodes is simple and reliable.
