Detection algorithm for moving target based on impulse radar

Abstract

In order to realize detection of missile miss distance measurement system based on impulse radar, a new detection method based on multi-thresholds is presented. Firstly, according to the echo characteristic of moving target, the range gate method can realize equivalent sampling. Then the detection method for multi-thresholds in time domain can realize the detection of scatters and elimination of noise in every range gate. By computing the average power of every scatter point echo by the detection result, every scatter can be identified. The detection algorithm can resolve the problems of low detection precision and scatter identifying in subsequent data processing. Simulation results indicate that the algorithm is effective in echo detection.
